There have always been diverse ways of growing fruit, vegetables, herbs, and flowers. Whether you use organic inputs and amendments, or prefer plant nutrition, both have good and less good things about them. That is why in recent times organo-mineral nutrients, also known as syn-organic nutrients, have become increasingly popular. These combine the best qualities of organic and mineral to produce an elite product.

In this article, we break down everything you need to know about organo-mineral fertilizers, explaining the benefits, each product from the ATA NRG line, reasons why you should use them and much more.

Where does the organo-mineral concept come from, and what does it bring to my plants?

With organo-mineral nutrients we have the best of both worlds. Let’s break down what both organic and mineral nutrients provide in more depth to understand what the true benefits of this type of combined nutrition are.

Organic nutrients

Organic nutrients are available in solid form such as compost, worm castings and other organic waste material. In liquid form, bottled organic nutrients will consist of ferments, extracts, sugar-based molasses or fish emulsions. Commonly, these nutrients are slowly released to the plants via the soil food web, which is populated by microbes and fungi. Growing plants with organic solids or liquids is more forgiving than using mineral fertilizers. Over-fertilisation and root burn are almost non-existent with organic nutrients and growing in soil is very forgiving and resilient. But there are still problems that can arise, such as soil/substrate pH rising or falling, and nitrogen availability compared to mineral nutrients.

Mineral nutrients

Mineral nutrients are also available as solid fertilizer, liquid solutions, or liquid suspensions, and are used for gardening, lawn maintenance, landscaping, in hydroponics and agriculture as a whole. Unlike organic nutrients, the nutrients are instantly available to plants, have higher nutrient concentrations and are perfectly designed to give the plants just what they need at each stage, so typically they produce larger sized crops. You only need to take a look inside your local garden center to notice how many mineral and chemical derived products are specifically targeted for the gardening world. However, mineral fertilisers are far less forgiving in the event of over fertilisation or root burn, also, they do not nourish the soil life and do not keep the soil healthy in the long term.

Three top tips for growing with the ATA NRG nutrient line

You cannot really go wrong when growing with the ATA NRG nutrients line, however you can always improve, so below we have provided three tips to consider helping you become an even better syn-organic grower!

Top tip #1 - Follow the grow guide

Thanks to our carefully designed grow guide, as a beginner grower, you will be able to grow your favourite crops with ease. The 6-part nutrient is so simple to mix and combine, allowing you to experience the ultimate growth and flower production.

Top tip #2 - ATA NRG bottles out of sunlight

The best way to store your Atami nutrients bottles is away from sunlight, and preferably in a cool, dark cupboard space. Not only will storing your bottles properly help maintain their shelf life, but it will also allow for a clean and tidy grow room environment.

Top tip #3 - Experiment with soil or coco coir

There is no reason for you to change your growing substrate if you have your heart set on organic soil, or coco coir. ATA NRG is universally compatible with soil and coco coir, allowing you to achieve the best results possible without changing your routine or methods that are most practical to you.

Atami’s conclusion

We find that so many indoor growers love to use the ATA NRG line, with the most common feedback being they hit record-breaking yields, and amazing quality crops. If you have been growing organics for years and want even bigger yields, then we strongly recommend syn-organic nutrients.

On the other hand, if you have been using hydroponic dripper systems and enjoy the idea of organic inputs for an enhanced flavour, organo-mineral nutrients can be de answer. But be careful! The some of the organic components of these nutrients make this type of cultivation more difficult to manage, as they can cause biofilms and odours. Therefore, we advise you not to use Flavor or Bi-Bloombastic in hydroponic systems. Keep this in mind when you choose your grow guide.
You can always use different growing mediums such as coco coir or soil mixes with the ATA NRG line, making it amazingly easy to use and delivering excellent results for even first-time growers.
